At Pet Partners of Eastern Maine, our therapy animal teams are the heart of everything we do. Each one is made up of a dedicated volunteer and their specially trained animal, working together to bring comfort, connection, and joy to people in hospitals, schools, care facilities, and communities across the region. Get to know the incredible duos making a difference—one visit, one paw, one heart at a time.

Team Abbey

Team Abbey is a mother-daughter therapy dog team featuring our first junior handler. Together—and independently—they are passionate about supporting schools, crisis response efforts, first responders, and the community. Inspired by their family’s connection to law enforcement, they are committed to bringing comfort, compassion, and hope wherever they serve.

Team Andie

Andie is a gentle Golden Retriever who brings years of experience as a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International and has recently joined the Pet Partners family. With her calm, steady presence and signature golden sweetness, Andie has a special gift for helping people feel at ease. She especially enjoys serving as a reading dog at the library, and providing comfort to college students during stress-relief events. Andie’s kind heart and quiet companionship leave a lasting impression whereever she goes.

Team Annie

Annie is the definition of a gentle soul. With her soft golden coat and even softer heart, she brings a calm, comforting presence to everyone she meets. Annie has a natural way of easing worries and inviting connection—whether through a quiet lean, a warm gaze, or simply being by your side. Her kindness is felt instantly, reminding people that sometimes the greatest healing comes from the gentlest presence.

Team Aquila

Aquila is a dedicated therapy dog whose calm, friendly presence has touched countless lives throughout our community. Together with her handler, she visits local hospitals, libraries, and university stress-relief events, offering comfort, connection, and encouragement. When Aquila isn’t volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family and is always ready for her next opportunity to brighten someone’s day with a wagging tail and a warm smile.

Team Aubrey, Too

Aubrey and her human bring years of therapy dog experience to Pet Partners of Eastern Maine. After previously volunteering with Therapy Dogs International, they are excited to continue their work through Pet Partners. As a teacher, Street Pastors volunteer, and hospital volunteer, Aubrey's handler is deeply invested in serving students and vulnerable members of the community, making Aubrey a familiar and comforting presence wherever they visit.

Team Aubrey

Aubrey is a gentle and intuitive six-year-old Malinois–Shepherd mix who volunteers with two handlers at the hospital, local schools, and serves the community through “street pastors,” and offering companionship to members of the unhoused community. Aubrey’s soothing presence and loving nature make her a source of reassurance, connection, and quiet joy to everyone she meets.

Team Aurora (Rori)

Aurora is a sweet and affectionate Golden Retriever who is happily following in the pawprints of her mom. Rori’s family visits places like college campuses for stress relief nights and local libraries. Now, Rori is excited to share her own special presence wherever she is needed. Known for her soft snuggles and eager tail wags, Aurora greets every person as a friend. With her loving nature, she makes connections — one cuddle at a time.

Team Brandy

Brandy lives in Belgrade and loves volunteering in Waterville at a local nursing home. They passed the team evaluation last March. Brandy is an 8 year old lab but still acts like a puppy. She is very friendly and enjoys her visits. They prefer to volunteer in the morning or early afternoon.

Team Buddy

Buddy is a lovable and gentle Whoodle who brings comfort, joy, and companionship to everyone he meets. With his calm demeanor and friendly nature, he thrives on spreading happiness during visits and making meaningful connections .

Team Ellie

Ellie is a lively and social standard poodle who adores long walks, fetch, and meeting new people. With her playful spirit and love for attention, she’s eager to brighten days as a therapy dog.

Team Harvie

Harvie, a Sheltie with a lot to say, has a sweet temperament and irresistibly soft coat that help bring smiles and moments of calm to patients, families, and staff. When he’s off duty, Harvie enjoys agility events, playing in the backyard, 'talking' to the television, and ending every evening as his family's favorite snuggle buddy.

Team Holly

Holly is a spirited golden retriever who loves connecting with people and spreading positivity. Her therapy dog journey is inspired by her family’s own healthcare experiences, deepening her dedication to helping others.

Team Jack

Jack is a gentle golden with an old soul and a love for play. His calm, affectionate nature makes him an ideal therapy partner, spreading comfort and joy wherever he goes.

Team Kaiya

Kaiya is a rescue shepherd mix who overcame a tough start to life and now brings joy to everyone she meets. Outgoing and affectionate, she loves walks, snow, and making new friends.

Team Koda

Emeritus

Since 2015, Koda has volunteered thousands of hours across communities. As an ambassador, he has launched new programs across Maine, still finding time to hike, swim, and catch frisbees. At 15, he is semi-retired for special programs & appearances.

Lincoln is a sweet two-year-old black Lab with a gift for finding those who need comfort the most. Gentle and calm, she loves to lay by your feet or soak up pets, bringing peace and quiet joy to every visit.

Team Loafy Bear

Loafy Bear became a therapy dog in 2024 and loves bringing comfort to patients, students, and community members. Whether at the hospital, in schools, or at grief support events, she lights up every room with her gentle spirit and sweet smile.

Louie is a lovable Bernese Mountain Dog with a big heart and playful energy. Whether chasing balls or snuggling, he spreads comfort and joy wherever he goes.

Team Maddie

 

Formally known as Kloofbear Madeline, this Landseer Newfoundland is a gentle giant whose calm presence brings comfort wherever she goes. She especially enjoys participating in community events and visiting children in Pediatrics and patients at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, where her caring nature shines. When she’s off duty, Maddie loves going for car rides ('driver training') and catching up on plenty of well-earned naps.

Mary is a two-year-old miniature poodle who is just beginning her therapy dog journey. With her sweet and devoted nature, she brings comfort, companionship, and joy to everyone she meets.

Team Muffin

Muffin is a friendly mini poodle who connects with everyone, from toddlers to seniors. Known for his calming spirit and warm companionship, he’s ready to brighten days with joy and love.

Team Obie

Obie is a gentle giant who began his therapy dog journey in 2024. At 125 pounds of fluff and love, he brings joy to children in hospitals, libraries, and community programs, always ready for a cuddle or belly rub. Obie's human is fluent in ASL.

Team Obie, Too

Obie, a calm and affectionate Bernese Mountain Dog, now works with a second handler who is part of the hospital team. This allows them to integrate animal-assisted therapy into daily care and reach even more people. With his gentle and loving nature, Obie brings comfort and connection wherever he goes.

Team Obie, the Trilogy

Sarah and Obie, known as Team Obie, the Trilogy, share a special bond rooted in resilience, compassion, and connection. Sarah is an ASL interpreter, like Obie's mom, and together, they bring warmth and emotional support to those they visit, creating meaningful moments that remind people they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Team Ollie

Ollie is a playful and affectionate Sheepadoodle who loves greeting everyone on walks. With his gentle nature and love for snuggles, he’s a natural at bringing joy to those he meets.

Team Pigeon

Pigeon is a highly skilled and accomplished competitor in obedience trials, and now brings that same focus and dedication into her work as a therapy dog—offering a sweet, gentle, and deeply affectionate presence. She meets people with calm curiosity and warmth, creating moments of comfort, connection, and genuine care wherever they go together.

Team PJ

PJ is a Sheltie who has a special gift for making patients, families, and students feel welcome, relaxed, and cared for. Her gentle personality and soft, fluffy coat make her an instant favorite wherever she visits. When she’s not volunteering, PJ enjoys family adventures to Acadia National Park, summer trips to Prince Edward Island, and relaxing at home with her brother Harvie and sister Keeva.

Rangeley is an energetic and intuitive therapy dog who brings an uplifting presence wherever he goes. Whether visiting patients, students, or community members, he offers a spirited and enthusiastic companionship, creating space for healing, reflection, and connection.

Riley Bear is a goofy and affectionate golden who leaves a trail of smiles wherever he goes. With two loving handlers that he inspired into this work, he’s dedicated to bringing comfort and cheer to patients and staff.

Rosie is a sweet, outgoing golden retriever who lives to brighten people’s days. With her wagging tail and gentle head nudge, she has a natural gift for spreading warmth, comfort, and joy—one wag at a time.

Team Ruby

Ruby is a devoted Golden Retriever who brings years of therapy dog experience, having recently transitioned from Therapy Dogs International to Pet Partners. Alongside her canine mom, Opal, and half sister, Holly, she provides comfort and connection through cancer care visits, supporting both patients and the dedicated healthcare staff who care for them. Ruby approaches her therapy work with remarkable focus and purpose. Her sweet, serious expression reflects just how important her job is to her, but beneath that thoughtful face is a loving, affectionate girl who is happiest when sharing comfort with others.

Team Straya

Straya, an Aussiedoodle livesin Ellsworth. Straya enjoys going to work, playing in the water at camp and food. She loves to travel and enjoys sleeping on mom and dad’s bed . We became a therapy team in 2025 and can’t wait to make a difference.

Weylin is a sweet, gentle golden retriever who loves pets and attention, often flopping at your feet for belly rubs. With his calm nature and love for people, he brings comfort to patients at Acadia Hospital.

Team Yoshi

Yoshi is a gentle Great Pyrenees who loves giving back through visits filled with comfort and tail wags. She enjoys walks, swimming, and snuggling with her favorite rope toy, always ready to bring smiles to anyone in need.
